More nephews. More grand nephews. More picking. And this time, potato digging
 

Sunrise Lake

Beautiful fall day in New Hampshire on Sunrise Lake. My grand nephew hopped from boat to boat. Sometimes he didn’t make it. Lake was warm. We all got wet.

 

Top Done

 Paul finished the top portion of the job yesterday

The Roof Risers

Paul got the roof riser brackets mounted and the main beam installed. The skeleton structure of the new overhead is coming into view 

Here’s the Weir

 

We put in on the Lamprey river below the falls at Newmarket. I had never seen a weir before. The fish swim along the fence into a pen. The fisherman comes at his leisure and retrieves whatever has been caught.

Fall Paddle

Lovely Fall afternoon paddle in New Hampshire with my brother and sister in law. 

 

Howard Prairie

A lovely morning paddle on Howard Prairie lake.  Our first time here but not the last. Saw an eagle fishing amongst the other wildlife
 

New Bathroom Windows

We swapped out most of the windows 6 years ago but the upstairs bathroom ones never did come out.  That oversight was rectified today.  With Paul doing other work, we took advantage of him being here and replaced the old, foggy things that were there.

The Vinyl Goes On

The vinyl sheaths and caps started to be put on today.  The upper deck's railings reinstalled. Much stronger and sturdier than before. 

Down below, the newly encased timbers look like an art installation. 

And a new gutter will finally run the entire length of the roof.  W has never liked the roof runoff during the rainy season.

Rogue Valley Girl Goes to Venice

92 year old Kim Novak appeared at the Venice Film Festival to hand out an award and show her new documentary. She has been a Southern Oregon resident for decades.

New Posts

Paul started putting the new posts today. Replacing cedar with cedar.

Demo Done

The posts and top part of the deck went away today. Tomorrow the rebuild starts.

First Step’s a Doozy

Paul arrived today to start taking down the deck’s railings. They will be replaced with vinyl so I never have to paint them again!
