Brush Fire
I thought it was getting cloudy out...... Then I saw there is a huge brushfire burning over the hill towards Universal City. The humidity today is @ 13%. It seems to be heading towards Forest Lawn, the famous cemetary.
XKR
New photos from the Jaguar XKR launch. Seems like there are billboards and ads for this campaign all over Los Angeles. The jumbotron next to the House of Blues is running the Rome footage we shot last year. Very cool.
And our favorite Italian Production Manager Antonio made the cut..........

Day Two: The Villa
A few more snaps from the Jaguar commercial we just finished in Marbella Spain.
It was great to be working with thses top models who make glamour look easy. They included Laura Gorun, Ilay Kurelovic, LaCoste guy Ian Lawless and Ana Marie Cseh.
Back again was Ugne Andrikonyte and Werner Schreyer who recreated the fireworks they demonstrated on the italian tarmac last year.
Fair and Balanced
"A study by a University of Maryland center concluded, “Those who receive most of their news from Fox News are more likely than average to have misperceptions” about Iraq. For example, in 2003, 67 percent of those who relied primarily on Fox wrongly believed the U.S. “found clear evidence in Iraq that Saddam Hussein was working closely with the al Qaeda terrorist organization.” Only 40 percent of those who relied on print media harbored this illusion, debunked thoroughly by the 9/11 Commission"
"An audience that decides for itself, based on “fair and balanced” coverage, ought not to reach monolithic conclusions. Yet, in our 2004 polling with Media Vote, using Nielsen diaries, we found that Fox News viewers supported George Bush over John Kerry by 88 percent to 7 percent. No demographic segment, other than Republicans, was as united in supporting Bush. Conservatives, white evangelical Christians, gun owners, and supporters of the Iraq war all gave Bush fewer votes than did regular Fox News viewers."
Two interesting paragraphs from the Capitol's own The Hill.

Guillermo and Ellen
I like this series of pictures of a moment in a day of a commercial. The DoP and 1st AD discussing the next shot? Some actor availability problem. Are we behind? When is lunch? What coverage is still needed? Why is the producer in the helicopter? Where is the make up girl? A hundred such conversations and asked questions happen everyday on set.
I seemed to have captured the arc of this one. I like the way they circled each other on the set while the italian 2nd assistant director listened and watched.
Guillermo is the Vilencia born Madrid based first assistant director. Many people think he has a passing resemblance to famed Spanish actor Javier Bardem.

Hotel Montelirio
This is really a post for myself in case I ever get back to this part of Spain. Ronda was so beautiful and our hotel, Hotel Montelirio was amazing. Perched on the edge of oblivion, the hotel has amazing rooms and a pool 300' above the canyon floor. Next time i hope to stay longer than one night.
