Driving Miss Banco

Last Wednesday we came home with the chemo pills and thought we would start treatment the next morning. The sun rose and we now had second thoughts. We decided her condition was too advanced and did not want to put her through the side effects.

The last few days I drove Banco to Lawnridge park, a park we often walked by most mornings.  She really liked ambling around the familiar neighborhood.  On this day, her last, we even ran into Kelly doing some gardening. These were short walks and she was tiring easily.

Below is Saturday afternoon and W trying to get her to eat a little bit. You can see the legion of pillows, bolsters and blankets on standby to aid in her comfort. 30 minutes after this picture, we decided to go to the hospital.

Banco in Situ

The doctor gave Banco the hi-ho and she will start the chemo pills tomorrow. After the hospital visit, we dropped in on Bruce and Lindsay. Banco has her favorite bed there and ate some spaghetti, duck treats and Lindsay's fried puppy beef patties.
Us humans made out too with some Arrabbiata pasta.

Banco in Situ

Here she is eating some of Robin's pork shoulder last night. Banco is definitely a feminist. She prefers food from her women friends.

Today we journey back to the Central Point hospital do some blood work. Banco has sarcoma cancer and there's a possibility that a chemo pill called Palladia might arrest the progression. Blood work will decided whether she's a good candidate or not.
