The cheapest, showiest, easiest flowers in the garden are in full bloom. Pink ice plants spread like weeds but are very bright and this year, the orange variety has begun to spring up as well.
A squawking coming from a neighbor's palm tree caused us to gaze up to the top and see a large bird perched there. From the different calls, we are guessing we have some more red tailed hawks and chicks in residence. I can only hope that our bird bath does not become a buffet for the predators.
Below is what the bird looks like when not photographed on the long end of a crappy digital camera
WL installed the euro headlights into the 280SE yesterday after taking them apart and cleaning the lenses and reflectors. I found some new bulbs for them and everything looks great. We took it out for a drive last night and adjusted the beam heights.
I got the 280SE back from the upholsters today and the seats are back to their former glory. No more lumps, no more dried foam dust. We ripped off the ugly and warped plastic dash cover and had the shop make a carpet cover.
WL found a set of euro headlights out east of here and we collected them this afternoon. We will take them apart, clean them and hopefully slide them into place this weekend.
Ellen just got back from juroring the Berlin Film Festival. In between making best friends with the Berlin mayor, she actually watched a few films. Here are a few pictures from the red carpet with her other colleagues.
One of the few things salvaged from our move three years ago were the hodgepodge of iris bulbs around the property. We dug them all up and planted them in the back underneath the mock orange trees. Each year we get a few more blooms and they have begun to sprout.
We replaced a few of the frost damaged plants with two new red tea tree bushes, adding a splash of color while the mystic spires recuperate after a tough winter.
It was another beautiful day on Mount Washington today. I was able to prune the frost damage on the pepper bush and plant the final tea tree this morning.
We went to a late lunch with neighborhood buddies Sylvia and Val this afternoon. Villa Sombrero has great margaritas and food and like a well crafted caesar salad, the guacamole is made in front of you. The artwork alone is worth the price of a drink.
Yesterday we were shooting at the old Lowe's Theater in Jersey City. A beautiful landmark theater that is the midst of being refurbished. It was great to be able to explore the craftsmanship a little bit while we were working.
