Day 11..... Terminados
Today was the last day. Some cleaning up, stucco-ing the wall near the house, finishing up the north side of the big wall and getting rid of the berm created by ditch digging.

Day Nine....... Flat Top
Antonio and his crew finished the top of the big wall today. Looking great and I am still marvelling at the colors in the stone. The cement is drying to a perfect light shade for the rocks to stand out. They also got to a skim coat on an ugly cinder block wall next to the house.

Eggvocado
MR bought some mighty big avocados so we decided to try an eggvacado recipe. Taking the pit out, adding an egg and some salt, pepper, hot sauce and then in the oven @ 450 for 15 minutes. Quite tasty.

Day Eight......Taking Form
The guys worked on Saturday to knock out a lot of work on the new wall. Taking form and looking wonderful. We re-hung the gate today and need to install the locking hardware.

Day Seven ..... Beginning
The wall is finally taking shape and looking very good. Progress was delayed slightly when the foreman's truck was backed into by a neighbor's kid. Teenage drivers!

Day Five..... Auburn B
Pallets of stone arrived today. Auburn B (for Brown) is the color. Very vibrant colors. Looks like it's got a lot of quartz in it. Really beautiful and only $.16/lb.

Day Three
All the debris has been removed and a trench dug. This afternoon a supply of lumber and rebar came. The form was taking form and hopefully by tomorrow afternoon, there will be a new foundation for the new wall.

Morning Garden
The front yard is starting to wake up. As the honeysuckle starts to die off, other plants are stepping up. And the pepper bush is in full fruit.

To Protect and Serve
The recent Chinese New Year made us very aware of evil spirits and bad luck that can befall anyone at anytime. With that in mind, today I purchased an old chinese Fu dog roof tile to incorporate into the new wall. Supposedly this guy will keep evil spirits at bay. There are many versions of Chinese roof tile figures now on the market from when Beijing razed old neighborhoods for the Olympics. Architectural salvage.
