A little warmth and some sun has the front garden beginning to bloom. The lemonade berry bush has very small white and pink flowers.

The Crown Falls
After 5 years of drought and no supplemental water, a neighbor's beautiful pine was dying at the top. This morning, the guys came to trim away the death leaving a shorter but beautiful tree.
Coaxing Banco
WL tries to coax Banco off a table in the back and onto a lounge. Failed miserably and Banco can only wonder what the fuss is all about

Green Garden
Lots of rain means lots of growth out front. Things are not quite blooming yet but there are a few splashes of color coming.

Antonio's Back
German DP Antonio was back in LA last week for a nice week long job. The bottom pics are of his butt dolly looking good in the monitor.

Leisurely Set
A lull in the action last week afforded Bob and Nick to play some darts in the backyard of our location. I'm proud to have been able to catch the dart in mid throw.

Banco In Situ
In between the 3 storms that battered LA this past week, Banco ventures out for a moment's worth of sun.
First Job 2017
First job of the year was in NYC. I arrived during a snow storm that had the plane delayed for quite awhile. The next morning's sun made it all worthwhile. The DP was a lovely Polish woman Magdelena Gorka. It was great to reconnect with old NYC friends and colleagues.

Backyard Gloom
The clouds are rolling as much more rain is on the horizon. The lemons are loving it all and starting to get plump.
Salt Lick Taste Test
My sister gave us a pink salt plate for Christmas so we decided to be scientific and do a taste test. Heating it up on the grill, the slab lost it's Himalayan pink color. We got the plate to 325 and put the chops on. Nothing like the smell of salt and pork fat to make the arteries quiver. They came out great but not too salty.... just right. The regular chop was good too, just lacking a certain pizzazz.
ASC Ellen
Still wearing the band jacket she got from wardrobe in YVR, Ellen makes the scene in this month's ASC magazine. She's been handing out awards in Woodstock.
Precious Cargo
We drove past McDonalds recently and saw that the McRib was back in town. Today, with gloomy skies promising rain, what a better treat after cleaning the bathroom than a few McRibs for ourselves. When I drove through the take out lane, I was informed that we had the last 2 in the store and no more would be coming to York Blvd. We got them home and savored them thinking we might not enjoy another one again this year.
