Upstairs, Downstairs
While I'm downstairs painting the guest bathroom, WL is upstairs playing with his new laser level, hanging blinds.

Bookcases
One of the bookcases had some damage on the bottom when we bought the house. After painting the walls a light blue, the battered wood stuck like a sore thumb. So I painted them white. Now we have to figure out what to do with the sea grass wallpaper above them and around the fireplace.

Toasted Rogue
One of the best treats around is a toasted cheese sandwich from the Rogue River Creamery. The normal one is a few kinds of their excellent cheese and some honey. I opted for the garlic cheese curd version this time.

Master Carpet
We were told that the carpet pad is as important as the carpeting. Banco helps Paul install. And the bedroom is finally got a bed in it!
Fires
The Taylor Creek fire has filled the valley with smoke. The sunrises and sunsets can be very dramatic if the wind is right. But like most people around here..... we're tired of these blazes.

Betsy Arrives
Brooklyn gal pal Betsy A did a swing trough the pacific northwest and put Grants Pass on her itinerary. 5 days of lavender hunting, wineries, antiquing and jet boating....It was a whirlwind visit.
Bathroom Done
The folding shower door came weeks ago and when it was finally time to put it on, it was the wrong size. Turns out the size I ordered does not exist. We quickly replaced it and the new sliding glass door looks great. The smaller door fit the shower stall downstairs so everything turned out ok.

Living Room Ceiling
Before Betsy arrived, we tackled the popcorn ceiling in the living room. The day nearly broke us. For some reason, anything we do in the living room is very taxing on us. But its done and I'm finishing up painting it now. Much smoother!
Bathroom Problems
The upstairs bathroom was causing leaking downstairs. So when the guys demo-ed the bottom bath, there were 3 old galvanized steel pipes that had rotted through. The drain upstairs was emptying out underneath the shower pan downstairs and flooding that bath. "Deferred Maintenance"!

Wainscotting
The wainscotting for the bottom bathroom was a kit from Home Depot. It turned out great and was a quick install for the guys. I'm starting to paint it now.
A Sage Grows in Grants Pass
The sage we brought up with us from LA is flourishing. Supposedly good to 20 degrees so we'll see if it survives winter.

Bathroom Humidor
It was on Craigslist as a pie safe. But while talking to niece KN, I realized it didn't seem right and did a quick google. The pie safe was actually a copper lined humidor. This would have been a smoking table back in the day. It still is pretty smoking in the downstairs bathroom.
