Oregon BBQ
Not sure if this is really a thing or not. But this popped up recently as a BBQ/cooler idea in Oregon. The empty bottle of Jack Daniels is optional.

Wood Pile
Into day 2 of 3 chopping and chainsawing the wood left over from the tree men. Should be good enough to keep the fireplace happy next year. With everything cleared under the redwoods, it's impressive just how thick the trunks are.

If you know who any of these legendary actresses are, it's well worth your time to see the documentary Tea With Dames

Bird Chair
I finally unwrapped the Bird Chair. After 18 years of New York City humid summers, the metal was rusting. All the welds are still good. So I stripped the rust and primed it. Painted and put it up in the bedroom.

Fireplace
Still loving the fireplace. We've been scouring the local antique shops to find new fire tools, plant stands, a copper skuttle and a mod little chrome seat.

Waters Creek Hike
Karen took Banco and I out to Waters Creek for a little hike recently. Another beautiful local place to spend a morning.

Boys with Toys
They waited till the end of the day to pull out the fun stuff. A remote controlled stump grinder. They effortlessly chopped through some redwood roots that were lifting up the front porch.
Monkey Beavers
August Hunicke's excellent Monkey Beavers working on bringing down the three trees menacing the pool.

Redwood Clear Out
Before August Hunicke and his Monkey Beavers arrived today, you could not see under the redwoods in the back yard. Now everything is cleared out and we have use of the full lot in back.
Tree Prep
These three trees are leaving today. They have compromised the pool and our neighbor's fence. We love the privacy but will have to think up an alternative. Yesterday we took down a portion of the fence and hacked away at ivy.

AZ Citrus
My sister's best friend sent us a care package of Arizona citrus yesterday. Meyer lemons and oranges. Sourced from her yard and neighbors. We do miss our LA lemon tree but this is fantastic.
Augustino's
Although we love Augustino's big red barn in the Applegate Valley, we decided it was time to motor down to Cave Junction and see their famous tree house tasting room. It is up in the trees a little bit but you come for the wine. Our favorites being the Dry Rose and their white Celebration. Robin called forth her dressage skills and mounted the deck's hobby horse.
