We haven't had anyone come into the front rooms yet but today a kid lost control and ended up straddling the curb out front. Banco thought they were visitors baring gifts.

Perfect Morning After

It started snowing last night and this morning was a perfect winter wonderland. More snow and cold coming this week.
 

Christmas Tree

 Getting our little tree and a few lights up before my surgery this week.

They lit the Christmas tree downtown 2 weeks ago.  Recently, Banco and I walked past one morning.
 

New Shade

Swapped out the old shade for a new black and gold variety. Adds a touch of class and gold light to the front room.

New Treads

The new carpet stair treads came about a month ago. Easy to install and look good. Now we have to do the upstairs.

Finally

One of the last house projects finally getting tackled this week. With some carpet treads coming this week, I've been filling in countless staple and nail holes in the basement stairs. Sanding and painting.

Grape Pies

The Finger Lakes specialty will be soon be made across country.  The jars of filling arrived in Oregon unscathed.
 

Halloween Color

Back home in Oregon, the leaves are really vibrant and peaking in color. Very beautiful but with a few tricks waiting in some bushes......
 

Sunday Hike

We took advantage of a sunny day to walk the boardwalk on the west side of Genesee River with the brother's family.
 

Land of Grapes, Apples and Wine

While in Rochester, we motored down to the Finger Lakes region one Saturday and spent the day in Naples, NY.  Concord grape capital of the world! Grape pies everywhere. We brought several home and the makings for many more. There were also some fine wineries in town.  Our favorites being Arbor Hill and Inspire Moore. It was a gray day but highly spirited.
 

The Last Good Day of the Year

On my recent trip to Rochester, there were some magnificent days and I got in a few kayak paddles.  I love this view of my brother's backyard.
 

Last Paddle

Was a gorgeous day out on Willow Creek Lake.  Mount McLoughlin already has snow on it. I suspect this was the last paddle of the year.  Will hopefully be starting again next March.
 

Banco in Situ

The annual street art fair is back this year. Art Along the Rogue turns asphalt into canvas.  Banco and I wandered around the paintings Sunday morning.  A few of the artists were already out and working.  Some the amateur selections were just as good as the competition entries.

Stained Deck

Spent Oregon's last warm sunny Saturday re-staining the back decks. Used a brush to get in-between the boards. Much longer process but hopefully more aesthetically pleasing. 

Lindsay's Treasure

We went to Galesville reservoir last week for a paddle. The water is low and the old forest is exposed. Lindsay is always on the look out for old lures in the sunken forest. This week, she pulled up a real treasure.
