Two Day Birthday

 Last night was dinner at a local steakhouse while today was a champagne brunch featuring the huge Serrano ham we got as a Christmas present. Serrano selfies all around.

The Jville dogs are very friendly in sharing their beds and bones.  Banco tried to stuff the largest into her mouth. She lasted 10 minutes before her jaw gave out.

Parade Season

Last weekend was the JVille Christmas parade. A very cold morning but a good showing. Charlie likes to howl along with sirens so when the fire trucks rolled past, he did a full throated accompaniment.

New Gates

Handyman Paul has been working on giving us a new gate on the north side of the house. He's moving the new gate 8' closer to the street. So he added onto our neighbor's fence and tomorrow the actual gates gets hung.

Banco and I walked downtown this morning. The new Greetings mural is almost finished.

Chile Verde

Tomatillo season is upon us. Seems to be the last crop before winter.  We spent Friday afternoon in JVille with the T's where W gave a lesson on Chile Verde making.  Some local frizzantes and red wines got the better of Bruce and me.

We've been seeing the snow in the hills and mountains around us and this morning, we got our first slight snow of the season

Last Picnic

With rain coming tonight, a bunch of the gang headed to our favorite winery yesterday for a last of season lunch in the vineyard. Beautiful day.

Fall Arrives

 Our idyllic and long Indian summer comes crashing to a halt next weekend.  Time enough to finish some painting, squeeze in a paddle and have picnic at a winery

Low Lake

Applegate Lake was quite low this morning.  Beautiful day on the water. It's still a big enough lake and wonderful even if you're looking up at the trees.
