Saturday Morning

Ellen's fiancee Anton an I went exploring this morning to three of Auckland's weekend markets.  Besides the friendly free hugs, there was a lot of great food and produce.  I had never seen real, undried tumeric. We then hit up some expensive antique stores and then I was happy to hear that I didn't need my passport to enter Liquorland. On our way back we passed the uniquely named Tepid Water Baths..... sounds meh.......

We ended last night with a bonfire by the docks.  S'mores and a bit of heat were enjoyed by all.

Patrick of the 1000 Islands

Fun loving nephew Patrick decided that kayaking was too subdued for him so he had my brother Don hook him up to the back of the boat for a pull.  Things didn't work out so well the first go but after some consultations, he got going and had a good ride.  His father and my brother David sailed past a few minutes later wondering what was going on.....

Smorgasburg

Betsy and I explored Smorgasburg Brooklyn in search of her favorite maple dipped bacon skewers. Quite delicious. What is vexing for non-pork lovers is that their lamb burgers also contains pork. Mint lemonade with pork?

Ryan Surfs

My nephew got out on a surfboard for the first time this morning at Huntington Beach and was a great success.

Va-va-voom

 

Visiting sister and kids are in Anaheim for nephew Ryan's basketball tournament.  After the game today, we went to Seal Beach to do a little kayaking and paddle boarding.  Niece Taylor channeled her inner Jayne Mansfield and wowed all in her pink bikini. The canals will never be the same.
