Library Steps
The day before my knee blew out, I drove to Talent to buy these library steps. My plan was to strip and paint them before they made their home next to the bookcases. But for now, they all remain a winter refuge for some of the outdoor plants.

Another Reason to Love OR
And I thought this was a Canadian thing....... South of Portland this past weekend was held the annual Pumpkin Regatta. Now that I know about it, we'll have to catch it next year. Must be a good place to get some pie......

Grandparent's Lamp
I spent the day giving my grandparent's standing lamp a refurbishment. The wood got a sanding and oiling while the pitted shaft and base got sanded and repainted. For the moment, it's hanging out in the living room.

Bookcases
One of the bookcases had some damage on the bottom when we bought the house. After painting the walls a light blue, the battered wood stuck like a sore thumb. So I painted them white. Now we have to figure out what to do with the sea grass wallpaper above them and around the fireplace.

Toasted Rogue
One of the best treats around is a toasted cheese sandwich from the Rogue River Creamery.The normal one is a few kinds of their excellent cheese and some honey. I opted for the garlic cheese curd version this time.

Master Carpet
We were told that the carpet pad is as important as the carpeting. Banco helps Paul install. And the bedroom is finally got a bed in it!
Fires
The Taylor Creek fire has filled the valley with smoke. The sunrises and sunsets can be very dramatic if the wind is right. But like most people around here..... we're tired of these blazes.

Betsy Arrives
Brooklyn gal pal Betsy A did a swing trough the pacific northwest and put Grants Pass on her itinerary. 5 days of lavender hunting, wineries, antiquing and jet boating....It was a whirlwind visit.
