Red Poppies

While SoCal is enjoying a super bloom of poppies, we have been getting some red ones amongst the orange.

Lake Selmac

Barbara, Bruce and I went for our first kayak excursion today to Lake Selmac. Barb and I are trying out the new inflatable kayaks and they turned out to be very good. We saw osprey and a great blue heron fishing.....along with a few humans. Gorgeous day before it gets hot tomorrow.

Pozo Blue

I've not been able to grow our favorite Clevelandii sage here, the Winifred Gilman variety. I found another kind called Pozo Blue or Grey Musk that's supposedly hearty in our chilly winters. Hoping these guys survive and we can start cooking with it soon.

New Kayak

Unpacked and inflated the new kayak.  Gave it a spin in the pool.  Looking for larger lakes soon.

Ladies Who Lunch

Three fave ladies sing fave song from fave 90 year old composer.  Hopefully, you can watch it here.
Elaine Stritch is still the gold standard but these three gals give self quarantining a lift.

Rubber Ducky

Barbara gave me a huge duck for the pool.  Happy Birthday and happy lounging.

Summer will be upon us soon.  A new batch of limoncello is being brewed.

Forsythia

I had to go to Home Depot for a few things so I also went through the nursery and got 3 forsythias for the front of the house. The yellow blooms will look good against the white and red of the house.  I did not get enough mulch so that will have to be finished when the quarantine is lifted.

New Blue

The orange paint from Terrace 49 was fading so a new coat of baby blue was requested.

I haven't been following all the corona virus videos that have been popping up.  But after a re- watching of Blake Edward's "10", I went online to find a rendition of Ravel's Bolero. The French National Orchestra has a new version played in dozens of living rooms around Paris. What's great is that you can finally see which instrument is playing a solo.....watch it here

GP #2

The Milken Institute says Grants Pass is doing great.  I liked the comments from the locals......One thought it was April's Fool and the other says the tank's water needs changing.
