Lake of the Woods

We spent the day at the Lake of the Woods Resort.  Robin rented a kayak and I got my new Sea Eagle RazorLite out on the water. The lake is gorgeous.  We saw a bald eagle fishing. Nice to see Mt. McLoughlin raising up from the treetops. Finished up the day with a pizza at the resort's small marina.

He's Gone

A singular talent in motion picture music. Italian Ennio Morricone's music was as fantastic as it was unforgettable. Read and listen more from The Guardian's obit here

More Lost Creek Lake

We spent another paddling excursion at the south side of Lost Creek Lake. My favorite place so far. Clear green water.  Debbie and Steve came by motor boat.

Lost Creek Lake

Last week's kayaking adventure took us north of Medford to Lost Creek Lake. Robin joined along but without a boat, she propped herself up in my bow. And the hilarity began.

Galesville Reservoir

Motoring up to Azalea and then about 8 miles on Upper Cow Creek Rd leads you to Chief Miwaleta park on the Galesville Reservoir.  Much, much larger than Lake Selmac.  We saw a bald eagle hunting. And Steve and Debbie joined in a more leisurely motorized vehicle.
Afterwards it was back on the freeway to Roseburg and the Abacela winery.  A few glasses of excellent vino and a late lunch.  A long but fun day.

Illinois River

Outside Selma is a road that winds along the Illinois River's fire scared valley. Karen took Barb and I on a trip to her favorite swimming hole.  The water was high as evidenced by a submerged campfire. Clear green water. The wild flowers were out. Fantastic find.
