Seven Makes The Scene

We took Seven over to sniff around the new place this afternoon. He met the two neighbor dogs, a couple of gorgeous Huskies. He inaugurated the back yard with a first dump.

Barney Takes New York

While shooting for National Geographic's Dogtown, MR fell in love with one of her subjects. Now Barney lives in the East Village with two understanding cats and a very active mother. Barney made it on to the Today last week and to watch the segment, click here

Bond Museum Opens

AJ Directs

We had our Metropolis moment on set last week when HW created some stunning undulating graphics to project behind our model. AJ directed her in the proper way to unfurl and pose.


Maybe next year, the budget will be large enough so that the actress's don't have to mop up after themselves.....

I saw this graphic in London last week. On posters and tshirts. Originally it appeared during WW2 but I guess people have found a new use for it in these troubled times.

Tuesday Dog

Seven decided this morning that the most comfortable seat was me.....his twisted neck allows him to keep an occasional glance at the computer screen while he dozes.......

All That Glitters

Finally got back to Los Angeles and got the cable I forgot to pack...... here are a few pics from the set we just did in London. We took over a huge convention hall and built a 350' street on it. It was all very impressionistic and fun. We worked really hard for 2 1/2 days to prelight it and then shot on it for 3 days. A hard job but with lots of shiny things to occupy our minds.

The Corner of.......

I arrived @ London Heathrow yesterday morning and got immediately whisked away to Earl's Court to take a look at our location. There was a Train convention on the main floor. And in between the stalls for safety gear, battery systems, heavy equipment, etc, Graham and I imagined what our 350' roadway will look like here.
Afterwards, I got a cab out to Pinewood Studios to see the rest of the team. Pinewood is most famous for being the home of James Bond and there are reminders everywhere. The production office is at the corner of Goldfinger Avenue and 007 Drive. And of course everything lays in the shadow of the massive 007 stage, built by Ken Adams in the mid 1970's to house 3 nucleur submarines for "The Spy Who Loved Me".

Trumpets and Grass

I was waiting for the insurance people over at the new yesterday. Seems all the rain and sun have created a jungle. The front yard is hip deep in prehistoric monster dandelions and the backyard has several trumpet flowers in full bloom.

Sat. Morning With Dr. V

We loaded up Seven this morning and did our monthly ride to Dr. VanCise's excellent clinic All Animals Hospital. Seven's seizures have come under control with the Doctor's care. He was the first vet to test for Seven's thyroid, which was non existent. Seems simple but all the fancy vets, doctors and animal neurosurgeons in Los Angeles never thought of it. It's a bit of a drive to Norco every six weeks but the staff there have become family. And it was with a little sadness that Dr.V thinks Seven only needs to come every 8 weeks now..... From 4 to 6 to 8. As the time between visits lengthen, we know Seven is getting better but we will miss our treks.

Gold Line to Court

I hopped on the Gold Line this morning to travel downtown to Probate Court this morning. Was happy to see the cars were full. People always saying that mass transit will never work in Los Angeles. I met Jason outside the court room and we wondered if any of the assembling suits would be outbidding me on the house. Finally 8:30 am rolled around and we entered the courtroom. The estate's lawyer made an announcement to the room about overbids on Terrace 49. No one bit. Jason introduced me to the two realty ladies handling the property. After the judge got over the confusion of the home's address, she thought 49 was an apartment number, the judge asked the court room for any over bids. No one answered. Down came the gavel and my offer became accepted. The whole process took 6 weeks to line up and 90 seconds to execute.

One Day Away

We went by the house yesterday and took a few snaps of the long, long grass. Some little yellow flowers (dandelions) have begun to sprout. and no one has been around to pick up the Mexican limes falling in the backyard. We met the next door neighbor who seems to be a bit down on the property. In fact, the idiosyncricies that we find charming with the home, he thinks are detriments needing to be expunged ....
Anyways, it's 16 hours till court time.

Weekend Dog

Seven slept through all the recent excitement. He vows not to be interested in Hollywood stuff until RinTinTin returns......
