New Sofa

Found a lovely leather sofa on craigslist.  The living room is complete.

Pool Remodel

The pool was drained, sand blasted, re plastered in a dark blue color and refilled.  I fixed a crack in the skimmer and needed to keep it warm all night to cure the cement.  We rigged a light bulb to a c stand. The old equipment still comes in handy.

Paul finished the stairs yesterday.  The only thing left is a bit of staining on Monday.

Something sweet for your worst enemy?

Now the Stairs

Paul uncovered the stairs yesterday.  The original crumbling bricks were covered in cheap concrete and were later covered in carpeting before finally being covered in a bad, uneven wood job.  His job now is to create a good, even set of stairs down to the backyard.

Deck Done

The deck got finished yesterday.  Looks fantastic. We opted for a natural look instead of covering it in paint.  They start on the stairs to the pool next.

Deck Progression

After several rainy days, the first day of laying down the cedar planks started today.

Riding the Rogue

Some of the family braved the Rogue River and took a ride on the popular Hellgate Jet Boat tour.  Still early in the season but they benefitted by seeing half a dozen bald eagles, multiple cranes and ospreys.  Lunch at the lodge down stream and then a wet and wild ride back to the dock.

Banco lives on the edge.

Deck Redo

Day 1 of the new deck construction.  The existing portion by the master bedroom was taken off today.  The plastic wood will be replaced with cedar.

Dogwood in Bloom

The neighborhood dogwood trees are in full bloom.  Being shaded by the redwood, ours are a few weeks behind the rest.
