The Traps Are Set

We been trying to deal with our moles with coyote pee. After they returned, I called a rodent expert. He came over last night and set some traps. Now we wait and see if they can catch anything.

 

10 Days with Charlie

The Trumbulls headed south for a wedding and I said I'd take care of their older dog, Charlie. We did lots of walks.  Dinners with neighbors, afternoons with neighbors, evenings with neighbors.  Not a day passed without some meeting.  I made my first frangipane tart.... the second one came out fabulously. My bread making skills were miserable. 

It was fun to have a dog back in my life, if only for a few days.

Leaky End

We had a good possible last paddle of the season. Warm fall day. Lots of sun. Bruce’s boat had a leak that precipitated him and LT switching kayaks on shore. After a bit of floundering and a tight fit for Bruce, we were back on our way. 

Little Tree Gone

I had to take down the little tree by the pool today. I went out to trim it and there was substantial rot inside. Now there’s a hole by the pool. Will have a winter to think of what to put there.

Stain

 A few nice days before weekend rain so I took the opportunity to stain the lower deck today.

Last Time Was 1814

 He’s literally destroying the White House to turn it into a country club.

Pittsburgh Paddle

Patrick ani I paddled the Ohio and Allegheny rivers around Pittsburgh today. Passing by the new stadiums and old remnants of the steel making history. Afterwards we got through the Warhol museum.

Rowing Race

Nephew, kids and I peddled along the river in Pittsburgh to view mom SaraH compete in a rowing contest. Her company came in third. Several bake sales along the way fortified our trek.

Sunrise Lake

Beautiful fall day in New Hampshire on Sunrise Lake. My grand nephew hopped from boat to boat. Sometimes he didn’t make it. Lake was warm. We all got wet.
