Short Cut

Driving along the beach to save some time while we are in search of the perfect river.  We drove through a few along the way.

Las Cascadas

We saw three sets of waterfalls in the morning.  Each was a hike inland along and through streams and pastures, disrupting the local inhabitants along the way.  Tristan uses our key grip and local scout as stand ins to frame the shot.

Arriving Tambor

We took a small plane from San Jose, Costa Rica across the gulf to Tambor.  The terminal was quaint and there are only daytime flights as the runway has no lights. We loaded into cars and went off to our first locations...... waterfalls

It appears that there is a nest directly beneath the hawk. They were quick builders and will be a welcomed vermin deterrent to the neighborhood.

Red Tailed Return

Two grown up red tailed hawks flew around the neighbor's giant pine tree this afternoon. Great to see them flying so close to the ground. Amazing birds

Our yellow crab spider is back this winter to keep the garden free of moths and such. Last year, he stayed on top of one flower the whole time he was here..... but this year, this one picks a new pad each day.

Blimp Maneuvers

On our walk tonight, I noticed the Goodyear blimp flying in circles over the mountains to our north. Maybe someone is practicing for the upcoming Rose Bowl parade/game.  The grandstands are already being assembled along Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.

Jane Swavely

I was able to go to  Jane Swavely's opening of her one woman show Purlieu last week at Brooklyn's AIR Gallery.  The paintings were as complex and cinematic and wonderful as the artist.  They are hanging till the end of the month so go and visit.
