Barbara has been feeding a fearless stray cat named Gary. One morning, Gary wanted to play with Banco. She had no idea how to react to this cat rolling around in the gutter. Since this photo, Barb has taken Gary in and neutered him. His new moniker is Derby.....as in demolition derby!
 

Boys and Toys

Yesterday, Paul took down the old wood fence on the north side of the property. Today the trencher came in and he dug a path to the pool. Now the pool power can be buried instead of hanging from the neighbor's fence.

She's Gone

Word comes today that Angela Lansbury died peacefully this morning at 96. For 80 of those years she was on stage or in films. The stuff legends are made of.

Paint Party

 We were in Jacksonville yesterday helping to repaint the T's ADU. Bruce's sister had picked a hideous peach putty color (it photographs much better here). We opted to repaint with a more serene "September Song".

CA Fire

Our favorite kayak spot this year is just over the border from the raging CA fires. We've been lucky that the winds have been favorable and blowing smoke east instead of north.

Banco had a wonky back leg for a few weeks so we tried to make it easier for her to access the lounge.
 

Shade

It's going to be Palm Springs hot here this week. W got a shade for outside the kitchen windows to help with the direct light.  For the next few days, it's AC and movies for us.
 

Lily Pads

We had some guest paddlers from down south visiting so it was off to Lake of the Woods for the day. The south end of the lake had it's water lily fields in bloom. Amazing buds and flowers.

Recumbent

Finally swapped out the inefficient old bike system for a recumbent exerciser. W hooked up the old Brooklyn TV to his servers so I can watch anything from the library. 
 

Strawberry Season

W has been following a few youtube channels and decided to create this cornbread/strawberry/cream masterpiece. He's becoming quite the dessert chef.

The lavender has gone bonkers this year. I've been hacking away at it. I brought some in today.

Banco "treed" a squirrel on our morning walk. The thing would not budge. I guess it didn't want to drop it's apple.

Caveman is Back

The twin of our caveman has been given a makeover and is back on display. They found the previously unknown identical statue in a defunct carnival in eastern New York state. The city put it on a trailer and hauled him back home last year.
