Mongol Wrestling

Today in Central Park the local Mongol community celebrated Nadaam today.  They came from all over the northeast to wrestle a little, sing a little and eat a lot. I was with my Mongolian expert Martina and another camerawoman. 

At one point a Russian family passed by and their sons participated.  Both lost but were given high fives for the try.
Later during the traditional costume contest, one participant had the right Deel and sash on, but I think the fedora was non regulation.

People are always amazed at how well trained Seven is.  He wont go after the treat until Wilton gives him the word...... Of course then you have to watch your fingers.

We needed some precise movements for a source four leko last week so the grips mounted the light on a camera gear head. They were even able to side hang it for a shot to get the light close to the ground.

Paint Job pt.2

Big Irene is waiting to get the painting started. No more dings or dents or cracks. Very smooth. And soon to be restored to 1978.

The four casement windows in the front room were finally installed last week and we decided that the room should be repainted. Then WL thought that the screens should also be remade. And the dog was just glad to have one of his favorite afternoon floors returned.

Neighboring Trees

Our neighbor's Palo Verde has been blooming for awhile now. The bees are growing tired of our sages and are flocking to it's yellow flowers. There's also a massive Jacaranda a few doors down that is in full bloom.

Bathroom

The last of the casement windows are being installed today and we had to chop away a lot of the side vegetation so Luis could access the windows. We put a huge chunk of sage in the bathroom. Best air freshener there is......

Cleveland Salvia

We have several varieties of Cleveland salvias on the side of the house and drive but the showiest is Winnifred Gilman variety. Darker folliage, a deep red stem and violet flowers makes this a stand out. The driveway looks a little rough but it's never smelt better.

Poofy Puffs

Recently a small mom and pop garden store had to leave Echo Park and it's relocated close by on York blvd. Echo Garden has a great selection of plants, trees, succulents,etc. I was taken by these red puffs. I don't know what the name is but they will be adding a little color between the black sage and flax plants out front.
