Finishing Up

We took a drive through the Applegate to Goodwin Creek Gardens last week and got enough plants to finish the back yard project. More Grosso Lavender and Red Valerian, some Hot Lips Salvia, Arnica and Winter Savory (for cooking).  The owners are so nice and knowledgeable. Four days in the ground and the Salvia is already blooming.

Op Art Pool

Will some help from Barb and Robin this morning, we transformed the pool area into an optical art mural.

Fish Lake Snow

A gorgeous, warm day at Fish Lake.  There was still snow on the west bank of the lake. Mount McLoughlin was magnificent.  And LT and I had a snowball fight with the wet white stuff.

Dogwoods in Bloom

Red and White dogwoods in front blooming now.  Same color combo as Debbie's red velvet cupcakes!

Lost Creek Spring

Lost Creek Lake is still 15' below what she should be at but we braved the long boat ramp and paddled to the big bridge.  Passing by seasonal waterfalls, the usual serenity was broken by several helicopters helping to ferry downed trees the loggers were thinning from the park. Noisy but impressive seeing the logs dangling 40' below the choppers. 

Also, Sweet Pea has become like Bigfoot and there are sightings everywhere.

With the Spring migration happening now, we are being asked to keep the outdoor lights off to help the birds on their way.

We had a nice afternoon with Steve and Debbie a few days ago.  Banco made out like a bandit... getting treats and a foot rub.
 

Mount McLoughin

Mount McLoughlin loomed large while driving to Willow Creek Lake yesterday.  Out dormant stratovolcano was on full view during our paddle.  Gorgeous site.

Happy New Year

 

Wintry Mix

A beautiful, angry sunrise this morning. The forecasters are predicting a big winter storm hitting us today.  By 3 O'Clock, the wintry mix of raining slush began.  Good thing we have some dry fireplace wood and some new movies to watch. Looks to be our fate util Thursday afternoon.

Humidor

 

I picked an antique humidor stand I found for sale online. Nice veneer and the inside is porcelain.  Our other humidor has a copper interior. It's already in the downstairs bathroom.

New President +

While we were watching today's events in Washington, our new rice maker arrived.  Guaranteed to make the tastiest rice ever!  W is super happy.  We are trying it out now along with re watching some of the musical highlights of the inauguration.
