Grape Pies

I brought home some Finger Lakes grape pie filling last Fall and last night, W made the pies. He used an all butter puff pastry dough instead of the normal pie stuff. Amazing result that has the kitchen smelling of butter and grapes.

Lindsey's Birthday

We spent a lovely afternoon celebrating Lindsey's birthday amongst the vines of Wooldridge Creek.  We were loving their new sparkling chardonnay called Brut. Gifts included a huge, unusual Japanese Shigaraki tea pot  and W's limoncello.

We have been waking to the mid 20's these last few mornings. Bright sun. By mid morning, it's just warm enough for Banco to do a little sunning.
 

Unwrapped

I was able to take the bandage off yesterday and start some alternating hot/cold soaks. Vitamin E afterwards. Walking was fine on the bedroom carpeting so I think this change will be alright.

They failed last year. The groundwork is being laid for a more successful 2024 coup attempt.

Spent the afternoon with Debbie and Steve. Wilton held court with all the dogs and Banco looked regal on her sofa.

Lots of fireworks and explosives last night so Banco spent New Year's Eve in her basement bunker.

We haven't had anyone come into the front rooms yet but today a kid lost control and ended up straddling the curb out front. Banco thought they were visitors baring gifts.

Perfect Morning After

It started snowing last night and this morning was a perfect winter wonderland. More snow and cold coming this week.
 

Christmas Tree

 Getting our little tree and a few lights up before my surgery this week.

They lit the Christmas tree downtown 2 weeks ago.  Recently, Banco and I walked past one morning.
 

New Shade

Swapped out the old shade for a new black and gold variety. Adds a touch of class and gold light to the front room.

New Treads

The new carpet stair treads came about a month ago. Easy to install and look good. Now we have to do the upstairs.
