Our neighbor recently had the three palm trees bordering the back yard trimmed. It got rid of dead growth which can be used as rat's nests.... however I believe the dead fonds gave sanctuary to a fat squirrel that ate all our figs. In any event, the backyard is looking a little cleaner and sleeker.
