Last week we were doing a classic "strawberry being munched on by two gorgeous lips" shot. Our actress had to endure a 12,000 watt light at full intensity for the duration. Luckily, no sunburns occurred.
We were eating lunch today in Toluca Lake when we suddenly saw the Batmobile emerge from a warehouse. It seems the creator of the iconic car has his garage there. The mural should have been a give away and it was too bright for the Bat Signal to be seen.....
We are working in North Hollywood this week and our small stage saw the biggest rag ever hung on it's premises. The 80X50 full grid cloth is positioned just below my 32 spacelights. With only a 17' tall ceiling, space is a premium on this shoot.
Along with the majority of LA County, Jake, Shawn and I decided to hike up to the waterfalls of Eaton Canyon today.Even though it was crowded, it's nice know there is water close to us that is not surrounded by concrete. And afterwards, we rehydrated with a margarita at Arco Iris.
The cold rain brought the snow level down to 3000' making for a nice display in the foothills. The sun today is making for a nice display out front. The fuchsia hummingbird sage is in full bloom and after two years the western lilac is blooming along with the butterfly bush. WL found a huge aerodynamic moth perched in the about to blossom lavender.
We went over to the LACMA today to see the Stanley Kubrick exhibit. A great way to see how he made his films. From the low light lenses of "Barry Lyndon" to the Axes from "The Shining" and a model of the bedroom in "2001", there's way too much information and a second trip seems worthy.
The wax flowers in the front are in full bloom now but are being squeezed on one side by rampant rosemary and on another by about to bloom pride of madeira. They supposedly still have another 12"-18" to growth so hopefully soon they will be able to hold their own.
Wl has started to polish the anodized aluminum trim on the 280SE. I thought it was impossible to do but he found a kit online. The stuff is cleaning up really well as the foreground of the the picture proves.
