"Spiffingly Watchable"

In my forced confinement, I've been really enjoying the BBC's three part dark re-telling of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None".  Great cast  and 3 hours to delve into the characters and back story as none of the films adaptations could. One critic called this new version "spiffingly watchable" and I agree.

Green Bean Tamales

Fave Key Grip Ryan dropped off some of his tamales the other day. 1/2 Irish and 1/2 Mexican, his is a secret family recipe that he and his wife follow.  Delicious.  But Banco was disappointed not to get a sample.

Cornered

Banco cornered a bird seed eating squirrel in the backyard this morning.  It's currently a standoff, so we'll see who gives up first.

Baby, It's Cold Outside

Some ice on the birdbath this morning...... but Banco is wrapped up in the sun like an old lady in Palm Springs.

Bumper Crop

Tons and tons of key limes this year.  More than we can handle and bags are going out to everyone we know.

Ron and Marie

We were outside showing off the garden when perpetual walkers, Ron and Marie, ambled by.  At 89, Ron was diagnosed with diabetes when he was in his late 60's.... but beat it several years and many miles later.  He was told to throw away his blood sugar meds after 10 years .
Marie gave the neighborhood a scare a few years ago by breaking her ankle while falling off her roof! Some people can't slow down.
Banco never passes by an opportunity for a quick chin rub.

Retro Banco

Playing around with the phone's retro camera.  Capturing Banco and our feng shui green dragon.

Happy Holidays

Banco and WL feast their eyes on a new cuisanart.

Straight Toes

Dr. Kase did another fantastic bunion surgery.  Now I get to keep my feet up for the next 6 weeks. First time in 20 years I've seen straight toes on my left foot.

Banco's Neck

Banco gets the frozen neck from our Christmas bird.

The Last Shoot of the Year

It was a big stage job with Tristan. Lots of spacelights, T12's and a few Brieses.  A giving tree on the electric table raised a few bucks for a local animal shelter.
Below, Best BB Simone caught our Santa Grip at work and Martini Shot festival lighting.

The Future is Fast

The big Nike commercial we did with excellent director  Yann Demange last summer has been making the rounds on TV.  Lots of great imagery and the massive rain at night set up we did in San Francisco.

Disco Days

We were working in a Hollywood club recently.  Took me back to my clubbing days.

Dim Sum

We went to our favorite  dim sum restaurant in Monterey Park recently with Ellen and Sophia. We were able to score a table near the kitchen.... always a prime area to get first pickings and the food hot from the stove.

Banco in Situ

Cold nights means Banco has to take luxurious benefit of each sunny afternoon.

Cropduster

Last week, our niece, aka Cropduster, arrived for a brief weekend visit.  We took the ex- roller derbyist to see how the big girls play. The LA Derby Dolls did not disappoint with a nail biter of a finale.

Beauty at Night

A remarkable beauty shot we did last week. Can hardly wait to see the cut.

Hills at Dusk

We were up in the Hollywood Hills last week doing a commercial. The dusky views are worth the multiple million dollar price tags.
