They started to plant the slope today and finished some irrigation.
 

Crazy Times

Creek Bed

The guys created the dry creek bed today that will separate the slope from the flagstone path.
 

Stream Bed Goes In

Yesterday a big heaping, steaming load of dirt got delivered.  The guys backfilled up to the dry creek rock border.  More boulders arrived at the end of the day.  Today they are laying out the stream bed and diverting the gutter downspout drainage.

Rock Planting

Rocks and boulders came today.  The guys planting them to create the dry creek bed that will be in front of the house.
 

Barren

They spent the day scraping the front yard yesterday.  They hopefully finish that job today and maybe get to some boulder/rock placements
 

Bye Bye Yard

They are starting to scrape away the front yard today.
 

Of Fog and Pumpkins

A foggy morning on Lake Selmac gave way to bright sunshine. On the way back into town, we stopped at a local farm to pick up a few pumpkins and squash. Although I really wanted to, I heeded the sign and refrained from jumping on the pumpkins.

 

Eclipse

The path of today's eclipse went right over head.  Cloudy morning parted for a few minutes just as the peak coverage was occurring. Five minutes later, the clouds returned.  Very lucky for us.
 

Chilly Lake of the Woods

It was a brisk 47 when we got out on the water at Lake of the Woods.  The mountains already have snow. Bruce and I braved shorts while the girls wore long johns. They are getting ready for Halloween up there and a loaded bloody mary helped to chase the cold away.
 

Jam to Sauce

I attempted to make tomato jam recently.  Because I used so little sugar, it refused to set.  So I added some aromatic vegetables, tomatoes paste, salt and pepper making a tomato sauce.  

End of an Era

We've been getting those red envelopes every week for over 15 years.  They discontinued the service last Friday.  We received our last dvds yesterday. Time to start streaming.
