Night Jasmine

The night blooming jasmine has loved the recent hot weather and has been smelling great.  Next to some rye grass, one of WL's aloe vera's is also sprouting a flowering stalk.

Perfect Fall

The Catskills were blazing with color last weekend. It was the perfect weekend for hiking, cooking, apple hunting and log fires.

Morning Light

The morning light of the Catskills, skidding off the pond and into Ellen's home, filtered by antique windows.

Praying in the Front

Been seeing a few Praying Mantis around the neighborhood lately.  This afternoon, a full grown mantis is checking out the Mystic Spires in front.

Parrilla

Our location scout, Tanque, made a wonderful asado a day after the shoot.  Where we were able to mingle and thank the local crew and actors.

Juampi And Me

My excellent Argentine colleague and fellow gaffer, Juampi on set and at home with his two banditos.

Tenting

The sun came up on us during the last night of shooting. So while the crew was packing away equipment, we tented in a campfire and finished with close ups on our actors and hamburgers.

Downtown Cows

Our gaucho is leading his herd through the night streets of Buenos Aires.  We only had 12 cows but the effects team will turn them into a vast herd. Ellen steps in when a little direction is required.

Banco in Situ

Damn This Door!!!!!!!

Campo Flora

The Saturday before the shoot began, El, Sophie and I accompanied Flora to the delta region where she has designed and built a fabulous weekend home. Gorgeous inside and out.  We had a malbec infused, spaghetti westerned movie night when the sun set.

Ellen in the News

Ellen popped up in the news recently in two different articles. One was about sexism in Hollywood via the Guardian.  The other was a happier article listing the 30 greatest DP's of all history.
Here she is enjoying breakfast poolside at Home in Buenos Aires. And below, a little shopping in San Telmo.

Home Away From Home

Our base in Buenos Aires was a cute boutique hotel called Home. Great staff. Tasty breakfast and a darling house cat. Centrally located in the Palermo district.  Close to the production office, my favorite negroni maker and Italian restaurant Grappa Cantina
