London Walk With Graffiti

I'm trying to write this down so that I will remember it the next time I'm in London. Our Asst. Art Director recommended this walk through the East End in lieu of the tourist trap that is Camden Locks.
We got out of the tube at Liverpool station in the shadow of Norman Foster's gherkin and sauntered through Spitalfields Market. A great indoors market with a lot of clothing.

We then traversed Fournier St. One of London's last intact examples of 18th century living. Fournier feeds into Brick Lane.

We stumbled upon the Backyard Market with every known world cuisine. We tried an excellent meatball tagine from a Moroccan stand. I left with some dinner from an Italian stall.
Brick Lane has a lot of vegtable stalls and junk stalls and the storefronts are all open with vintage clothes and furniture. There was a bent wood furniture place that really caught my eye. Unto This Last has a lot of great designs but none that would fit into a suitcase.

We wound up on Columbia street in the middle of a weekend flower market. Super crowded and fun with alot of galleries and fun stores as well. We walked back to the tube station and headed back to Shepard's Bush.
