California Bay Leaf

On our excursion to Theodore Payne yesterday, we bought a new tree for the back slope.  We planted a ghost pine down there last spring and we thought about adding another one.  But WL spotted (and smelled) this beauty. The leaves are incredibly fragrant, the wood is used for guitars, the nuts are roasted and eaten.  The leaves are used to cure headaches and toothaches. We made tea from a single leaf this morning and it was delicious. This tree has something for everyone!
